Hello everyone;
As you know RNS has been working to develop and implement a strategy for the good of our sport for years to come. At the AGM in May we presented 12 Vision statements on where we see Ringette in NS over the next 5 years. I want to point out 2 of those statements:
There is an increasing number of Nova Scotians participating in stage appropriate ringette programs throughout the province, and player retention is high.
Nova Scotia players and teams are excelling at the national and international level.
On Tuesday, June 22, 2010, the RNS Board of Directors made a very significant step in changing our competitive programs that will help us achieve our vision. The Board of Directors passed a motion, unanimously, that would see a change to our Provincial Team program at the U14 age group for the upcoming 2010/11 season. This change would be to have two Provincial teams of similar caliber, rather than the “AA” and “A” structure we have in place today. Rest assured this decision was not taken lightly.
We understand this will cause some concerns and questions for many of your members and we want to be able to discuss and share the information with you so you become educated and able to speak to your members about the impacts to the program overall.
